Performance and Event Policies
Performances and special events like galas and the showcase are exciting events to attend and to participate in. Please familiarize yourself with these policies.
COMPETITION, WORKSHOPS & PERFORMANCES
As a member of The Studio family, we ask all dancers and families to support one another by watching and cheering on fellow performers whenever not actively preparing for your own routine. Our community thrives on mutual encouragement and respect.
-
You represent The Studio at all events and are expected to behave in a respectful, professional manner at all times.
-
Disciplinary issues leading up to an event may result in your dancer being unable to attend or participate in that event.
-
Missing class or rehearsal within two weeks prior to a performance may result in removal from that performance. No refunds will be issued for missed opportunities.
-
Dancers may not attend competitions, workshops, or similar events if your account is not current or has a significant balance, regardless of any payment plan.
-
Competition and workshop schedules are impossible to predict and once registered, fees are non-refundable. You are responsible for all fees once your dancer is registered.
-
Fundraising credits designated for competitions/workshops may only be applied to group routines that have been approved for competition by an instructor and the Operations Committee.
-
Many competitions do not allow photography, so please do not take pictures or videos during competitions. Studios can and have been disqualified for this – not just the dancer, but the entire studio.

STUDIO SHOWCASE
Each spring, our studio hosts a Student Showcase as an opportunity for extracurricular dances to shine on stage. This event also allows groups preparing for competition to gain valuable extra stage experience.
All eligible extracurricular dances are expected to perform in the Showcase.

RECITAL
The Studio typically hosts two major productions each year:
-
December: The Nicole Alex Memorial Dance Scholarship Fund Gala (Dance ONLY)
-
June: Our annual studio-wide recital
-
All enrolled students are expected to participate. If your child is unable to perform, please inform both their instructor and the Operations Committee as early as possible.
-
Tumblers perform in the June recital only.
-
Any additional performance opportunities for tumblers will be determined and coordinated solely by the tumbling instructors.
-
Recital Eligibility for Extracurricular Dances
Only approved extracurricular routines are eligible to perform in recital. If interest is greater than the number of performance slots available, priority will be given in this order:-
Advanced dancers with the most completed years of dance at our studio.
-
Date of application approval (earlier submissions receive higher priority).
-
